Does anyone else have problems with the touchpad lagging and skipping around while under a little load? While playing an older game that is not graphics intensive this occurs. Even while browsing the web this occurs but not as much as in the game

Only had the laptop for about a week

    XPS1530
    2.2 GHZ
    2 GB Ram
120 GB 7200 RPM hard drive
    1024 x 800

    Thanks!

You have acceleration controls in Windows control panel. Gaming with touchpad is a bad idea because it "sucks", get an external USB mouse.

Control panel "mouse" settings. I don't have Vista so best I can do!

Open Control Panel >Mouse properties>Select the 3rd tab 'Pointer Options'>Drag the slider to adjust your mosue pointer speed. Hope this helps. However, I am not sure if this would solve your actual problem. Some people have already reported such issues with the touchpad on M1530...

Ya, I'm having this jumping mouse behavior. It always happens when I open my lcd screen. I did update the drivers for it, but the problem is still there.

Maybe because of the heat? Mine gets quite warm under the touchpad. is just about the warmest part on the bottom

Try pressing the palmrest anywhere, without touching the touchpad. If it moves the cursor, you probably have a short.

Also, try opening and closing the lid. If the cursor goes crazy, you probably have a short.

In either case, you should get it fixed under warranty..
