This is basically a desktop replacement... although i wish i could get a 15.4 version of this. 12 is too small since i do a ton of flash, illustrator and photoshop work. 17 and 8 some pounds kinda stinks... oh well huge deal im getting... just curiosu i dont necessarily need htis laptop until th end of august (im leaving the country in early early september)

Does anyone think the duo core 2 will be out and in the XPS by early/mid august?

Also, does anyone know if the dell warranties extend to the UK, i will be in London come sept as i mentioned and wanted to make sure i wasnt investing in a warranty that would be somewhat wrthless

    here is the system:

    Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2400 (2MB Cache/1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005
17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife™
    1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHZ, 2 DIMM
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS
    80GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive

    8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
3Yr Ltd Warr, At-Home Svc, 30 Day DOC, PC Training, 2Yr Antivirus Suite

$1759.22 after taxes +$100 gift card for dell

Nobody really knows for sure on when Merom will be released into the new systems. Dell probably will not update their line till Fall, but that is just a guess.

I believe if you get 3 or 4 year warranty, you should receive international coverage. For more info on international warranty:
    http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/services/en/prog_portables?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&

If you live in the USA, you can use the dell coupons. I wasn't sure if that price included a coupon discount or not. Right now, the coupons have expired, but we should have new available Thursday morning.
