Hi![]()
Just joined the forums recently, lots of good info here. I was wondering I recently ordered my XPS 1730 and i was wondering why the ESD would be so far away. I ordered Aug. 29. ESD is Sept. 19. Now on the US website it says build time approx. 11 days for an XPS 1730, and us here in Canada get it from the same place, so howcome the long time? I dont think anything in my config that would delay it. Its a Core™ 2 Duo T9500 2.6GHz, 4 Gb RAM, 512 Dual SLI 8700M GT, RAID 2x200 GB, and Wireless N
Ive been saving up for it for so long, the excitement kind of makes me impatient.
Thanks
Also ordering from dell.ca, it does not show what phase of the build its in, it just says production, and it went right into production on the 29th, and I don't think we have a 1-800 number for order status. Checked my order status with the US 1-800 number, it says it shipped in April of 1999, lol.

hey, my friend has the same time line and he ordered his in the US. If you are gaming, I would have gotten the 8800gtx card and drop the processor to a t9300 (there is really zero difference between the 9300 and 9500)

Even if you're not gaming, drop the processor to T9300. T9500 has gotta be the most pointless processor to exist.

actually in Canada, dell.ca offers two choices for the XPS 1730, t8300, and the t9500. why not take the one with the 6MB cache? lol. but really what im asking in this thread is the build and ship times.
-
oh sorry lol, I got side track looking at your specs......that sux though, should offer more choices

what are they telling you
my inside guy at tell me part shortgage should be solved mid - nov -
thx, dude. but how to file a BBB compliant?
