hey all....small problem. my cpu core speed keeps changing by itself between 1.00GHz (what its supposed to be on "max battery" setting) and 1.83GHz ("always on" setting)

i used a program called CPU-Z and MobileMeter which checks the frequency and it keeps changing, rather than staying still at 1.83GHz or 1.00GHz.

for example, right now my scheme is on "always on" and my AC adapter is in charging my battery, although my cpu core speed is at 1.00ghz, but when i for example open a web browser it goes to 1.83ghz, but then goes right back down to 1.00ghz. this fluctuation of core speed is something ive never seen before, usually its stationary unless i change it......

what did i do? how can i fix this?

Mobile processors are designed to throttle down CPU speed when not needed. It is normal.

Notebook processors are made to clock down their speed to save battery life. I believe this applies even if your plugged in. When you are using a program that needs more power, the processor will most likely switch back to its top speed.

ive never seen this before, usually according to my power scheme the processor would adjust itself, but now regardless of what power scheme i use, even with max battery setting the processor sometimes goes to 1.83GHz...ive never noticed that before

I would try looking at its speed while running something- system defrag, etc.
