    hi, when i start up my m1210, there is no picture of the bios, if doesnt show anything, it only black and then when i wait for a couple of minutes, it shows text like this:

    ** Hardware Maltifunction
    Call your hardware vendor for support
    IMIL Parity Check/Memory Parity Error
    ** The system has halted ***

    Does anyone know what is this problem? I need to know what is this problem.. Sorry for my bad english, thanks in advanced..

    It looks like a bad stick of memory, but the BIOS should have fired up...

    what do you mean by the BIOS should have fired up? stick memory? do you mean the RAM memory?

    I agree with philfna, your memory is either not installed properly or has failed completely. If this is a Dell RAM stick and you're still under warranty call them to fix a new stick.

    If the BIOS (startup screen) didn't show then the problem could be more serious. Worth calling Dell up to see if they can help.
