Hi all. Just ordered my new XPS M1210. "Southern Lady" mentioned in her sticky post that you have to call Dell and order the discs.
Their web site doesn't mention this option and when I placed the order they said the discs come with it.

Can any XPS M1210 new owner report if they had gotten the discs shipped with the order?

    Thanks

southern girl is right. Your dell won't come with ALL of the discs. It may come with the OS disc if you ordered it, but if you reformat, you lose some of the other software like dell media experience, sonic, and some other stuff.

road_warrior, since i doubt the grossly uniformed reply above was what you are looking for, here is a bit more information.

I received my M1210 this week. It included the following 8 CDs:

    Drivers and Utilities
    Roxio Creator MyDVD Combo LE
Audigy Advanced MB (did not order this option, but hey, Free!)
    Sonic CinePlayer
    McAfee SecurityCenter
Windows XP Media Center Version with Update Rollup 2 (DVD)
    Microsoft Works
    and of course... AOL

oh, btw... I LOVE my new M1210!

The XPS M1210 is a bit different with the disc situation. Because Dell considers it a higher end system, they include the XP disc bundle in there for "free".

As Spion stated, you do get several discs. Eventhough your default DVD player is CinePlayer, users have requested the Cyberlink PowerDVD from Dell's Tech Support and installed it on the M1210. It is a user preference as to which you choose.

If you have XP Pro or Home, you will need to request the Dell Media Experience disc. This allows you to use the MediaDirect button while you are in XP.

Thank you all for the detailed responses.
Spion : Does your machine include the built in EVDO card?
If yes, does it work well?

Southern Girl: I did order the XP pro. Dell's email confirming my order shows that I'm getting Dell Media Experience 3.1 Basic for Inspiron . I assume the disc is included. Whom should I order the Cyberlink PowerDVD from: Tech Suooprt or Customer Service? My notebook will be shipped in about a week.
    Thanks again.

You can read about my shopping experience with Dell (got a sweet deal) and what helped me to make my decision in this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=76397&page=3

Most likely that DME disc will not come. I could be wrong, but usually what the invoice states is the software that is on your system. To get any disc that you are missing, talk with Dell's Tech Support. Personally i would recommend the chat feature, but that is just me.
