I keep having a boot up problem every now and then on the XPS m1210. I have Windows XP Media Center Edition. Sometimes when I start it up, all goes fine until the part where it's supposed to show the blue "welcome" screen and just blanks out. The screen goes black and thats it. So i turn it off by pushing the power button for 5 secs and restart it after a minute. It comes up to a screen where it asks me how I want to boot XP up. There's about 5 options (forget all their names) but none of them work and just blank out except 1- "Last known good configuration (and then there's something in brackets which I forgot)". This problem does happen a lot even though I can't even remember what the other options said :D I just started it up 10 minutes ago and the same problem happened yet i can't remember...

So anyone have any ideas? If knowing the other options is really that important ill reboot it again and again till it happens and take a pic of it or write it down. Please help.

I asked essentially the same question a few days ago: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=90531

Your version of the same problem leads me to conclude it may not be a D-tools issue alone. I see this problem all over the place, yet no definitive answer. I'll keep looking, and hope someone has a solution...maybe even Dell ! Imagine that.

Good luck...I'll post anything I find.
