    Hi,

I am ordering an XPS M1210 and was wondering if it is possible to play Flight Sim X, Call of Duty 2, and maybe Airbourne on it?

How good of performance can I expect?

Also depends on whether you got the integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics or the dedicated NVIDIA 7400 card. Don't even think about games with the Intel GMA 950, and only think about older games with the NVIDIA 7400 (i.e. MAYBE mid 2005 and definitely earlier)

CS Source will be an option with 7400...and that should be ALL you need

the XPS m1210 isnt for gaming its for portability, if you want better gaming capability while getting even more portable get the XPS m1330.

ug the m1330 is not some "super gaming machine" quit talking about it like it is the second coming. If you want a gaming machine get the dell 14 inch. The 7400 runs Lost Planet... HL2 at 60 fps and I think it should handle those fine. nTune overclock it for an extra boost.

7400 will NOT run Lost Planet anywhere near decent, at least if it's the same as the demo I had on my desktop, which played it, but my 7950 is quite a bit better than a 7400...

Maybe if you put everything on low you could get 30fps or so if you're lucky, and that's hardly playable, but w/e.

25% of Americans believe the second coming of Jesus is in 2007. Times like these, I lose faith in my country...

Why don't you want an M1330? Price?

my desktop's 8600GT(equivalent of a 8700M) gets 20-24fps in Lost Planet with low AA, all settings on max except HDR.
7400 or 8400 probably can't even play the game on low setting.

Think that guess might be right.

Anyway, no the M1210 was ok-ish for gaming when it came out (it actually made me look at the Dell portable notebooks) and the M1330 is today ok-ish for gaming.
Both aren't desktop replacements, if you are looking for a gaming laptop with all the bells and whistles, neither the M1210 nor the M1330 are for you. Take a look at the bigger ones.

And no its not the second coming, but its one of the most powerful (if not the most powerful) notebook when it comes to gaming in that notebook class.

Um, as a M1210 owner (w/ the 7400 card) who's tried running the Lost Planet demo, well...let's just slowly back away from that, shall we?

W/ 2 GB of 667 RAM and turning everything off that I could, I was lucky to get about 10 fps (avg 7 or so).

Other slightly older games though, like Civ IV, Railroads, HL2 & Ep 1, CS Source run beautifully though, even if the fan does run like crazy when I play 'em.

Bottom line? Not a machine for hard core gamers but great for the ocassional gamer and in pretty much every other aspect.

No one said it's some super machine - but it should be better than the Go 7400. And getting the 1420 won't help. It has the same 8400M GS as the M1330. Not sure what 14" Dell laptop you're thinking of...
