My memory card reader will not hold Memory stick in, I can push and hold it in and it makes connection but will not stay in on it's own. The SD card works fine.
By the way I am using a memory stick duo in a MS adapter, if that might be the problem, any suggestions?

    Thanks for any help.

The adapter may be the problem. I havent used mine yet since I only have a memory stick duo as well, which obviously dosent work with the reader. If your SD card works fine, but then the duo with the adapter dosent, its safe to say that the adapter is at fault. If you dont mind holding it in then fine, but if it really bugs you try and find another adapter.

so the card reader that comes built-in doesn't support MS Pro Duo?

did you read the owner's manual to see if your memory card type is definitely supported?

Look on the right side of your card reader. There is white lettering that says all the card types that the 1210's media card reader supports. It supports SD cards, so that will work. But no Pro Duo cards are not there.

I am using a Memory stick pro duo in a memory stick adapter, and on side it says MS/Pro are compatible.

I tried this on mine. I have both a ms duo with adapter from sandisk and a regular ms stick. They both worked and stayed in. However you have to pt some pressure on it when you put the device in. It clicks in and stays. To get it out you have to push in on it again and it springs back out very much like in a camera

I have the same problem. I have both duo + adapter and normal memory sticks. Only normal memory stick works. My adapter for duo is from sandisk, any one used other brand?

    Hi... Yep!

I got a SONY 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo and also a SONY Memory Stick Duo Adaptor. Since I saw "MSPro" in the card reader of Dell e1705, I'm using with the Adaptor, at least for now, no problems.
