Just ordered a XPS M1210, I have Vista Ultimate via MSDN and hints on getting it up and running on the 1210, anythink I need to be aware of or lookout for?

Also - will I be able to leave the media direct partition on the drive and will media direct 3.0 work with Vista?

OK - so I got Vista installed on my XPS M1210 - and I am glad I did - I have never see a computer with as much bloat ware as this thing had. I have resolved all issues in the device managers except one - Under other devices I have a yellow mark by a device called Base System Device?? I wonder what that is? Any ideas?

Any others out there that have Vista installed on their 1210's?

I had the same problem with my 6400 and thanks to help given to me in another thread, I learned it was the Ricoh SD reader drivers. So, download those and you should be all set :)

Actually - I am using a 4GB SD card for ready boost, so it can't be that??

Perhaps the audio drivers? Although audio is working and listed as OK in the device manager.

reinstall rhw ricoh drivers from dell you have to use the xp version but it works there is a driver key missing in the registry when using microsofts ricoh drivers they do work but not right you may have to run the drivers in compatibility mode
