    Hi,

I am ready to buy the dell i mentioned above.

The config i will buy is:

    Intel core 2 duo T7200 2.0GHz
12.1' TFT WXGA truel. (i know all have 12.1 but hey :) )
1gb RAM (BUT i am in serious thoughts of getting 2gb)
    DVD +- RW DL
nVidia GeForce Go 7400 256mb DEDICATED
    10/100 Ethernet, W/LAN, bluetooth
and al features the XPS comes with...

So what i saw from review ( http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2965&review=XPS+M1210+Review) is that they used Intel Core Duo Processor T2600 and i will buy Intel core 2 duo T7200. Does that mean that i will get better performance and higher benchmarks? (since mine CPU is newer in Intel line i think)

Will the 7400go 256mb last at least for 2-3 years for me being a collage student for some gamming? (i am not aiming for BEST config in the games but medium is ok)

On my OLD desktop i got radeon 9250 256mb (up to 8.1 direct X) and i am playing world of warcraft medium settings. So i am guessing with 7400go 256mb and dual 2 core will crash my old pc for gamming...

it should run fine on medium settings and as for the core duo vs the core 2 duo it really depends on if the game supports multi-threading. I'm pretty sure the 7400go will last 2-3 years if taken care of properly.

Stitch19: I've done a review of the M1210 with the Core 2 Duo, specifically the with the T7200 CPU:
    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3199

As far as the graphics chip go, the nVidia GeForce Go 7400 comes with 64MB dedicated memory + 192MB TurboCache shared from main memory to make up the 256MB. It might sound like not a lot of dedicated memory but it works fine. In fact, from most of the benchmarks I've seen, the Dell implementation seems to perform faster out of the box than ASUS W7J or the Sony SZ (and they use 128MB dedicated + 128MB TurboCache on their Go 7400). So I wouldn't worry too much about the low amount of dedicated memory as high level benchmarks and results are what counts.

In CounterStrike : Source I have mine set to default setting at native resolution (1280x800, most details set to high), and it's very smooth, avearges around 40-50fps in most maps. Guild Wars at 1280x800 also look very good and smooth on it as well.
