I got my XPS 2 weeks ago. this is my second pc after toshiba tecra. I love the size and overall built.

I already have doubts in the beginning that the coolilng fan area of the pc will get broken easily. As it has lots of bar-like for the exhaust. It was yesterday that i brought it with me in the office for the first time. I used a cheap folder-like cover and put it my back pack. As soon as i reach home, i immediately check that area if it stand the travel i did. As expected, one of the thin bars got broken. right below the cooling fan area.

Anyone who has the same experience.

i highly suggest the minimum you get for notebook protection is a neoprene sleeve. i mysely have a 14" sumdex wallet made of this hard foam, that would PROBABLY keep my notebook intact onto CARPET from a short fall. i also have a 15" neoprene sleeve i use to put my notebook and wallet in for further protection. i'm assuming you don't have NOTEBOOK backpack and that is the reason for your folly.
