I can't get it to work, not sure if its because of Firefox or not, but whenever I swipe it just wants to re-register the site and not actually log in

Is this an integrated device or an external device like a usb device? If ever its integrated try to reinstall the driver. If this is an external device try reseating the cable that might do the trick.

whats the procedure, do I have it right:

    1. visit password protected website
    2. enter your user name and password (but dont log in)
    3. swipe the Reader to register your fingerprint for that site.
    4. all future visits to the site, swipe your finger and it will log in your name and password.

    is that it?

It works fine with Firefox, who needs IE!? I use the finger print reader to log into many websites. You may not have registered the site properly. You must type in username and password, swipe the finger, click register. Then you're all set. If you swipe your finger and the menu comes up, click registered sites and click on the site you just registered. It'll go to that site and log in for you. From then on, you should not have to re-register.

Yes, pretty much. If you swipe your finger to log in and the menu comes up, look under registered sites and just click the site you're logging into. It'll log in, then in the future the menu should not come back up. This has been my experience anyway.

It doesn't matter if it's IE or Firefox, it's gonna work the same way in both of these! I think you covered all the steps here.

It does work in Firefox, but the first time I tried using it in Firefox, I was prompted by the UPEK software to install some sort of plug-in, which I allowed and after restarting Firefox it has worked fine.

Does that mean it will enter the name and password for you, or it will enter the name and password AND click log-in.

For Firefox it seems to remember all the filled fields but I still have to click the "Login" button to submit the info to the website.

It works for me for some websites but not others. I think that's to do with something different some webste do with the login.

Also, I can't get it to work with the standard Windows Vista Mail program. I'll set it up, and when I swipe the finger it will "replay" the login info and seems like it tries to enter the info which it does properly, but then the Mail login window pops up again.

Swipe your finger on the reader and go to Control Center, then go to User Settings and swipe your finger again to get in, than go to the registrations tab and select the site and go to edit then check auto submit form and the next time you select that site it'll auto click login for you

2 things: UPEK will have to download a plug-in for firefox. IT should do that the first time you register a site in firefox. You'll then have to restart firefox. Second, have you noticed the little box on the upper left that comes up when you try to register a site. Click "don't show this anymore" and close that little window. Now you should be able to log in no problem.

Just got my M1330 and rebuilt it from scratch.
Reinstalled the Biometric program, and the finger print reader works fine - can log into websites perfectly.

I've used it up 'till now only with IE but did note the other day after installing Firefox's new release candidate that UPEK's Fingerprint Reader Suite* gave me a "unsupported browser detected" message, so it might not like Firefox or more likely, it's just the current 3.0 Beta & RC versions... .

I did find a Browser-Support List on UPEK's site and although it's not for the same exact SW package, I'm assuming they both more or less the same underlying "engine".

*I've got ver 5.6 installed on my Notebook: what version do you have?

Ive set the reader to save to the device, rather then the HDD.
Does that mean that if I rebuild my system, all the original registered sites etc will remain untouched? Or do I still need to re-register everything again?

good good... then again, I often just tell sites to remember my pc anyway and log me in automatically when I go on them. But on sites which you cant do that on, thats a help.

Wish I could get it to work with FF3.0 . Guess i'll have to wait until it's officially released.
