Well I ordered my system back on July 16th and got an expected ship date of August 31. For the record that was only 5 days away. So all this time Ive been scouting Ebay for accessories and battery upgrades for my system and I noticed some XPS M1330s on Ebay as well.

So after looking at a few of them I realized how much better there are than my system I ordered and configured and anxiously waiting for. For $255.83 more I got some major upgrades buying from an Ebay seller.

2.0 Ghz Processor to 2.2 Ghz Processor
    1GB Ram to 4GB Ram
6 Cell Battery to 9 Cell Battery
    Wireless A/G to Wireless N
    160GB 5400RPM to 160GB 7200RPM

Same Crimson Red, LED, Bluetooth, Fingerprint Reader, and Windows OS. So I took the plunge and used the "buy it now" feature on Ebay. Called Dell the next morning and cancelled my order. The rep in Malaysia assumed it was because of the delay.

So the next afternoon my laptop is here. I anxiously stalked the postal delivery guy in anticipation. Now that I have it Im completely satisfied. I paid a little more, but got alot more features for the money. I got it shipped to me the next day, and its perfect. The seller upgraded the shipping at thier choice to overnight instead of standard, so that was a huge bonus for me. I just wish I would have found the auction sooner!

No gaps in the chassis as documented on this forum by others. Everything fits very well, no loose parts. My cd/dvd drive isnt as loud as I expected, no cpu whine. Most of the noise I hear is from the fan. No dead pixels!

The only thing I noticed was the bottom panel to access the ram wasnt installed back properly which leads me to believe the seller upgraded it rather than ordering from Dell with the 4GB configuration. Upon startup confirmed the aftermarket ram as I got a screen the ram wasnt seated properly. A quick fix. I reseated the ram and installed the panel back properly.

Overall Im very satisfied. No problems that others have complained about. I was really worried about this since I wasnt ordering from Dell directly anymore, but for the price I was already paying, this was a no brainer. Pricing the system I recieved at Dell would have added another $785 to my original configuration.

You should add a copy of the auction you won; Ide like to see that. Secondly, ensure you get the ownership transfer completed pronto.

    Congrats!!

    remember though, its second hand
so just be wary of that when you check the entire machine for any problems

This "error" (automatically) comes up when ram is upgraded, and may not have necessarily been a mistake on the seller's part. In fact, that screen even tells me that the seller never even fired up your machine - which is a good thing - so more rejoice could be in order.

In any case, congratulations on your find. Such a cool feeling to get the computer you want, from the "factory" or otherwise.

    Regards,
    Paolo

It's new, it's just sold by a reseller.

i believe it loses its novelty once the seller put his/her hands on it and upgraded the RAM
