I am having a difficult time deciding between a XPS M1330 vs. Fujitsu S6510.
The Fujitsu is more expensive but quite a bit lighter with a larger 14" screen with similar footprint.
I am wondering if anyone else tried comparing each unit and made an ultimate decision. Thanks

Is the S6510 lighter than the M1330? The S6510 manual says:

Fujitsu tend to be good with battery life, if that is an important consideration, and the build quality of the Lifebooks is usually good. One drawback of the M1330 is the lack of a modem port. Dial-up is used less and less but, if you are travelling, then it is useful to have as a fall-back. The S6510 has a port replicator option, but the internal card slot is PCMCIA, not ExpressCard.

If you are going to be using the computer many hours per day then the bigger screen may be worth having. If the S6510 had WXGA+ resolution then I would have bought one. I'm now waiting to see what the forthcoming Dell E6400 will weigh since that is said to have a 14.1" LED backlit WXGA+ option and be lighter than the D630 (which is now being sold off cheap and may be another option).

My other reservation with the M1330 is the slot loading optical drive: Nice while it works but a headache if a disc gets stuck.

Go for the M1330, I am extremely happy with it. I don't feel there is a need for a modem if you only travel with it in NA.

Rumors are that an M1330 successor is coming soon. Can anyone elaborate?
    Thanks

You can get the usb external modem with the 1330; not ideal but still workable if needed.
