    Hi,

This is my first post here.

I finally got my 3rd XPS m1330 finally without any CPU whine noise.
But got another problem with it, the LED display had a lighting problem on the display a small area. I called XPS support and got a technician ordered to me.

I just checked the servicenumber for that call, and could see the following:

    Part-number
    CX059

SERVICE KIT..., LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY..., 13.3, Wide Extended Graphics Array..., VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC...., TLF

My question i have an LED display on my XPS, this one above for me seems to be wrong looks like they have ordered and LCD instead.

Can anybody clearify this? So if this is wrong i can call and get it fixed before the technician arrives

This is a problem. Call them back and complain. My video card fried on my inspiron and i sent it back, then they gave me a computer with integrated graphics chip, then i sent it back again and again it came back with a low end ati card in it. Finally on the third time, they got it right and put in a geforce 6800 in to it. I can't complain though, I overclocked it :)

the LED display still used LCD technology! The LED's just make it brighter & more vibrant, and the LED's used are pure white LED's so they would be useless for making any sort of image on the screen, the part number might be correct!

Best bet is to just wait till the techy arrives then look to see if its thicker or thinner than your current one.

If its thicker is a normal LCD, but if its thinner, then the original one was a normal LCD, and the replacement is an LED LCD!

Go to device manager, bring up the properties of the monitor, and have a look at the hardware ID, what does it show?

If it says CMOxxxx you have a CMO LED panel, if it says LCDxxxx you have a Toshiba LED panel, and if it says AMOxxxx you have a normal LCD panel!
