    Hi all....my dimension desktop finally gave up the ghost after 6 years and I have moved my 2 year old laptop to the desk...I plugged in my external speakers in the headphone plug but no dice...checked settings in control panel and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong...any help?

    Are the sound drivers installed correctly (or at all) ? Do you hear sound out of the internal speakers? If so, do headphones work?
