I am officially in the testing stage! w00t Guess I might get it by the end of this week afterall!

All I see in status is in production. Where did you see testing and boxing stage?

Man, I order on 11/27 and my esd is way later than yours...

IF your in the US, call 1-800-433-9014. From there just put in your order # and you will get a more detailed status (Kitting, Build, Testing, Boxing).

Thanks for that number. It states my order is in the boxing stage and the estimated ship date is still 12/19, so i guess it is going to take 15 days to sit the box before they ship it on 12/19...Well, that just doesn't seem right. I wish they would ship earlier...

 

It very well may ship before then. Dell keeps the estimated ship date as is to cover their butts in case of any unexpected delays.

I ordered mine on the 27th and it was in boxing as well. I cancelled my order yesterday I believe. I wanted the laptop bad but after the tech lust died, I started thinking rationally. I knew the screen resolution would not be ideal for some programs I use regularly.

 

Dell's ESD/EDD dates are VERY conservative. They almost always come way ahead of schedule. If your in boxing now, your system will ship in 2-3 days.

It's hard to guess on how long it takes to build. It will vary based on your configuration and parts availability. It seems for the most part that the orders are ahead of schedule so if nothing arises, I bet yours will ship sooner.

When that happens it is usually related to your method of payment (cc company hasn't authorized it yet).

 

Sometimes Dell keeps stage as build when it really should be pre-production.. then it goes back into kitting and then build again.. I think it's just to keep customers from calling to check why it's in pre-production....

 

the order status on the phone has said that my m1530 has been in the build status for 2 days, is this normal or what. if so, what takes them so long to build it?

 

haha mine went from preproduction to boxing overnight lol maybe itll come earlier :]

 

@chevyman, looks like you got the cracked out assemblers. lol Seriously though, maybe they ran out of a specific component needed to complete yours for the time being. I'm just guessing.

 

illegal operation, i really hope that your wrong, i want that here as soon as possible, do yall think its possible that they just havent updated it?

 

could be a possibility because i dont know how else my status could skip from preproduction to boxing overnight haha

 

well it says my laptop is in the build stage and that that free lojack thing is in preproduction, which i figure that wont change until the computer is done.

 

Lojack ships seperately (from NJ). You will probably end up getting the software right before the computer (sometimes same day).

Guys, don't worry too much about your status (I know - easier said than done). I don't think there are any shortage problems and Dell's EDD's are extremely conserative. You will get your laptop ~10 before your EDD....

My original Esd was 12/19...Now status shows shipped with DHL estimated delivery 12/7 to 12/8

I also ordered a desktop for my son on 11/27 and it was delivered on 11/30, even though esd was 12/7

Lojack esd still 12/19...but who cares about that if the laptop really shipped!

Did your order change this morning? Still can't figure out why my ESD was 12/6 and others (like yourself) had ESD's 2 weeks from now yet yours has shipped. Mine is still in boxing.....

 

Yes, changed to shipped today, and received the email this morning. Although the email stated shipped 12/5. DHL shows it was notified on midnight 12/6. Also some places dhl/dell show estimated delivery on 12/7 and dell show estimated delivery 12/10 to 12/12...

Well either way it sure beats the original ship date of 12/19 and delivery date of 12/24 to 12/26 as it was very unlikely to be delivered 12/24 to 12/26...

Not real sure when it will arrive, but hey it makes me think i will get it soon.

 

That means yours did in fact ship 12/5. If you got overnight, you should be getting it today

I am looking at getting the same. Did you get blue-ray? Vista version?

 

No Blu-ray (too expensive right now) and Vista Ultimate. I think I will go ahead and do the review!

I ordered my M1530 on 12/4/07 and its EST is 12/18/07. I'm checking the order status page many times a day, calling once or twice, reading up new info. I really can't wait for this computer. I just realized it has an Estimated Delivery Date, too. Which is 12/24/07-12/26/07. Considering the last computer I bought from Dell (XPS 700) came in two months, I am not too optimistic.

 

Well, it looks like some resellers have already gotten their hands on the m1530s. They're showing up on ebay now.

Well, I must say that I am very disappointed with Dell. They dropped the ball BIG TIME!

AS you all know, I ordered a 1530 on 11/29 with an ESD of 12/5, EDD 12/6. Well, it is now Friday and my order is still in boxing.

The reason I am upset is that my order was put in with an expedite (from a very good guy at Dell) because of my 3 jacked-up 1330's that had some sort of problems. Now, I am reading the forums and I see people talking about how they just got theirs yesterday and their EDD was 12/26! Or some people at least shipped yesterday. They assured me it would be here by today, but alas no laptop until Monday (that is if it even ships today).

Anyway, Dell is REALLY trying my patience. All I have to say is this 1530 better be flawlesss and meet my standards or it might just get RMA'd and Dell will have to take a backseat for a loooong time while I spend my cash elsewhere......

 

I ordered my 1530 on 11/28 with a due date of Jan 3rd and I got it today. The delay was supposed to be the 8600 video cards but it looks like thats fixed.

Had an XPS m1330 and this feels more solid (ie heavier). Only question to me on this laptop is whether to return for the LED or a better screen. Nice not to have the system/screen whine of 1330, but man that thign was light.

Looking forward to see someone put in the time on the review.

Mine is still in boxing and now I am back to *****ing to dell. lol Who know - maybe I'll get more free stuff or upgrades.

I mean, you had and EDD of 1/3/2008 and got it already - my EDD was 12/6-12/7 and hasn't budged from boxing since 4 days ago.

I ordered mine on the 4th with an estimate ship of 12/19/07. It's still in pre-production according to the phone. I ordered this on my dell prefered account. Is there possibly anything I need to do? Or are they just running out of parts? I'm getting worried.

 

when you call are you putting in your Dell Purchase ID or the order number? when i put in my dell ID, it always says preproduction, but when i put in the order number it says its in the boxing stage. so i dont know if you've tried that yet, but if you didnt, try putting in the order number instead of ID.

and mine is also through DPA

 

Just wanted to let everyone know that I finally shipped! BUT, even with next day, it won't be here until Monday....

Guess you guys will have to wait for the review becaue this coming week is finals week for me and studying takes priority

 

Order as in sig. Just out of curiosity, where are the Dell systems for the US made? For New Zealand they are made in Malaysia, which means shipping takes 3 days to a week.

 

Received mine yesterday, here is US. Made Malaysia stickers all over the boxes here also.

 

hopefully mine ships within a day or two.
