Sorry about the title. It should be the 1530!

I'm seeing references in some threads about turbo memory with the 1330 and at least once for the 1530 but I don't see those options on either Dell configurator pages. What's the deal? Is there any internal turbo memory / Robson option for the 1530? :GEEK:

    That doesn't address the question.

Vista SP1 is supposed to have added support for Robson.

Dell XPS M1530 supports Intel Flash Cache Module. Dell does not sell them, you have to buy from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Turbo-M...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1197998446&sr=8-1 or other places.

Ah, thanks. I guess it is a safe assumption, based on your reply, that the 1530 has the slot for this module.

@ the naysayers.... my wife has a VAIO SZ with Vista. I installed a 1GB SD memory card in her card reader slot and configured as "Readyboost" and there is a clear difference in the speed of application loading. I assume the internal turbo memory technology will do the same and do it even better with SP1 and later updates.

Its not in the RC, I can tell you that. No difference here from SP1 to the RC. but for 30$ whatever, its worth it.

I guess if they have the slot available, they can offer it or not depending on availability. I wanted to make sure the option was there (even if Dell isn't selling the module).

On the Dell support forum you even find the installation instructions.
