XPS M170 Coupons

Well i tried entering the coupon you guys gave me just so I could see what the price would go up to an I got this:

What exactly does that mean and why did I get this. I hear alot of you guys saying to order over the phone. Why is this? Also im waiting for the 35%-40% coupons. Right now the coupon i have is for 25% off. My price is $3,048. If anyone wants to try and configure it and see all you have to do is leave it how it is and just change the Video Card from the 6800 Ultra to the 7800 GTX.

The XPS series are not considered Inspirons, and since the coupons are for the Inspiron series only, the coupon is not valid with the M170. Dell is either cutting back their coupon program or trying to elminate it all together. Because of that, I highly doubt that there will be a 35% off coupon for the XPS series anytime soon.

Yes, better luck going with a smaller less value coupon for the M170. So wait? The XPS was considered an Inspiron, and now all of a sudden a new XPS is out, and you cant use the coupons for it? My opinion...

 

It has been that way for awhile now. The coupons back in the summer were only for the inspiron series, not the XPS Gen 2. The XPS series is now considered its own series since the new line came out.

Besides, the latitude users don't get coupons either, and the XPS series is suppose to be the high-end laptop for dell users now.

 

I have a question while we are on topic: Is this The Luxury line dell was talking about? Or is that next year?

Well, there is none. There will more than likely be none, until or after thanksgiving, If even then. It sucks, I know. I'm waiting one one too.

 

NBR posts all coupons that are released from Dell, and we always have them under Notebook News and Reviews.

Best thing I can tell you is to either wait and pray that they will lower the price or release a good coupon (highly unlikely), or you can call dell and argue with them. They MIGHT be nice and apply, but I can't gurantee it.

well i just tried it and the coupon does NOT work. i even clicked on the link under "price before coupon" and it didnt work. i dont know if that would make a difference or not.

 

There is not a coupon out right now. There probably will never be one out again, they are trying to cut them out all together.

Yeah, I've noticed that before. I can tell you this, most people will call and order, then tell the rep to apply the current coupon for the insprion, they usually will. If they won't, hang up and talk to somebody else

 

can you just call and tell the rep to give u a price with a coupon but not actually buy it?

im looking to get this as an early christmas present. should i call and get a price and then talk it over with my parents or wait longer and see what happens with the price/coupons?

 

Yeah, you can if you want too. I would wait a week or two longer though, you never know what they might surprise you with(dell that is), their stocks are suffering so they might need extra sales in the computer department before they go out of bussiness(HAHAH yeah right)

np but make sure they change the title of those coupons or make an extra section for the XPS series. cuz from what ive heard there is no Dell "Inspirion" XPS M170.

RIght, but the XPS Gen 2, was called the inspiron XPS Gen2 ( i believe) they just changed it when they made this new bs luxury line

 

i dont understand how a $400 difference (nvidia 7800 gtx) can make a computer a whole new "luxury line"

around christmas, but I think I might get the sager 5720 instead. Same thing basically, a lot cheaper too, $2600 with tax and all vs. a Dell XPS M170 $3800 tax and all LOL! They have the same specs.

 

i called dell and tried to put the coupon on. the guy said he coudlnt because it was only for inspirions. so w/e. i dont feel like calling back and asking for another rep.

I used a 30% off coupon a couple weeks ago. So any coupon code I had is no longer valid. I also had to fight to get it for a day and a half. This was right after Dell mistakenly had the 30% coupon working for the XPS, so, I think they were letting customers use it that called them on their mistake. I can tell you, they never wanted to sell the XPS for 25% or 30% off. This is a brand new line... It'll be a while before they lower pricing or issue coupons.
If I were you, I would just try the laptop sales line and fight for it. Be nice.. I have found it goes a lot further than demanding something.
I would have never purchased this laptop without the 30% off as it saved me 1000 bucks.
The best I can tell you, Keep trying.. You may find someone willing to apply it.
