    XPS Vs. Inspiron

    Since dell priced the XPS so much higher than the inspiron, its fairly obvious that the XPS is better, but I don't see (since I don't know) the big difference. I checked dell's site, and for an Inspiron e1705 with exactly the same configuration choice as an XPS (17" one), the price difference was a whopping $600, what is so much better with the XPS?

    probably design, materials used, better screen quality?

    i think they differ in their support in case troubles blow your machine.

    design, better gpu, led lights make that 600 dollar gap

    XPS offers a better "name", dedicated support line, fancy lights on the 1710, a more powerful gpu on the 1710. The e1705 and m1710 use the same chassis, case, etc. If you don't need the "bling" or the 7950, get the e1705; it's a much better deal.
