Just saw this post over at Engadget and though I would pass it on to my fellow XPS users.

I read up on a couple things and it doesn't seem to be a huge issue, but you never know. I would like to see what Dell will say about this.

Nice thanks for the updated..

Nice to read that Dell is sending out new power supplies. I was planning on getting a second, but now I'll wait. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the first--and not get zapped by it.

I find it energizing. I've been using mine in the bathtub. And WOW!

I measured the current on the palmrest with a votmeter,.085 VAC is hardly anything to get excited about.

i got shocked the first two days I used my computer but i havent been shocked recently... knock on wood*
-

-
i have two pronged.. should i ask for a 3 pronged
-
Finally its been acknowledged. I was one of the first people to tell Dell about it and they were gonna dissect my laptop.

Mine shocked me as well....nice tingly feeling. When I used my grounded travel surge protector, it seemed to fix the issue.
-
No need for a lesson in electrical engineering 101, they should just ship all their laptops with 3 prong adapters.
-
wow I just order mine on the 15th...ship out date 23rd....hopefully they fix this before ship them to me.
-
*pats 3 prong adapter*

How would a 3 pronged adapter work? The pin that connects to the lapyop itself has only 2 terminals right? So how is the laptop itself grounded?
-
the question is though, will they send the 3 prong out to you w/o calling them first. or is it typical that you have to complain before anything gets done?

From the article it appears that Dell is just going to send them out to everyone who purchased one on their own. Is this true, because what I'm guessing will happen is they're just shipping out new laptops with the 3-prong adapter and I guess if you complain about your 2-prong one they'll send you the new one.
I ordered my M1530 the 10th, got it the 15th, and I got a 2-prong adapter. -
What I meant was that what connects to the laptop has only 2 terminals irrespective of the power cable from the adapter to the outlet - so how is the laptop itself grounded? Only the adapter seems to be grounded. -
I called Dell and they said all the 1330 and 1530's are shipping with the 3 prong now. I didn't ask about people who already got theirs but my guess is that they are only going to send you one if you call.
