These benchmarks are taken with fraps (60 seconds, min/max/avg). I've updated Oblivion to the latest patch and am using 163.16 forceware drivers.
    My Config:
    T7300
    2GB 667 RAM
    120gb 5400RPM
    8400m GS

    Medium Quality Preset:
    Outside: Min:2 Max: 62 Avg: 45.183
    Inside: Min: 29 Max: 63 Avg: 51.983
    High Quality Preset:
    Outside: Min: 5 Max: 28 Avg: 20.683
    Inside: Min: 14 Max: 45 Avg: 31.25

    Medium Quality Preset with 1280x800:
    Outside: Min: 8 Max: 36 Avg: 24.5
    Inside: Min:15 Max: 43 Avg: 27.417

The minimum FPS outside are so low because Oblivion loads up parts of the world, and the game stutters. (Anyone who has played Oblivion knows what I'm talking about!)

Note: On the medium quality preset, turning the resolution down to 1024x768 added another 4-5 FPS on average as opposed to 1280x800. :)

I'll try my best to answer any questions.

not bad for 1024x768 on meduium settings. seems like a big drop between resolutions. so I'm guessing this is NOT due to the 128mb, just the clock speed?

Thanks for the benchmarks, do you by chance have CS:SOURCE? :)

I don't have CS:Source, I will work on installing it ASAP though.

Also, if it hasn't been noted, the clock on the 8400m GS in the m1330 is 400/600 Core/Memory

Wow, the memory isn't clocked lower at 500MHz like the 8400M GS in the Inspiron 1420s!

I played cnc3 on a inspiron 1420 with similar stats, but slower processor then most m1330 laptops. I ran its at the 1280x800 rez, with most settings on high, turned off shadows and its ran sooo smooth, like butter.

In short, CnC3 is an awesome game to play on a m1330 since it will run at almost max graphics , minus a few things that are not needed.

Yea, I was surprised about that too! I installed some older drivers to play with overclocking a bit...but I didn't notice too much of a jump (1-3FPS in FEAR) Even with fairly heavy overclocking. I assume this is attributed to the GS's 64bit bandwidth, not for sure though.

I had to mod the .inf from the 163.16 forceware myself. All I did was copy and paste the TWO lines that supported my 8400M GS.

    NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0427.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS"
    %NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0427.1% = nv_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0427

After I pasted those two lines in the .inf it installed correctly.

Also, I just noticed that laptopvideo2go.com just put these 163.16's up, but haven't added the modded .inf file just yet. I assume if you wait a little bit they'll have the modded .inf up and you can just download that.

If you have any other questions just holler.
