You might want to double check.

I recently ordered a refurbished m1330, and some of them (most) came with the remote, but some did not.

I don't believe ALL XPS laptops come with the remote.

I also checked how much it is to order after you have your computer, and it's about $60.00!

I'd bet that it's because it was a refurb. As far as i know, all of the 1330's and 1530's should come with the remote new.

    Also, $60 is ridiculous.

The Rep should be able to tell if you are getting one or not. ;) If, once you receive your 1530, and it is not included....simply call Dell and request it. :)

As, it is a part of the the system, and therefore you should have it.

This might be a dumb question but is the express slot a place to house the remote control? I have the black plastic peice in there now but might put the remote in there if thats where its suppose to rest.

    Thanks

yep... the remote control does stick out 1-2mm compared to the black plastic piece being flush with the system... same 'design' with an actual SD card sticking 1-2mm out compared to the black plastic piece being flush

thanks for the info. then when I want to use it I just unclick it and then point it at the Infrared reader on the front of the laptop correct?

when u use it, press the remote in and the springloaded mechanism will push it out for you

and point to the area in front of laptop near the earphone plugs
