So this may be a pretty pointless question, but I'm gonna ask anyway!! On the back of the XPS Gen 2 screen, the "metal" part scratches REALLY easily. To the point where just taking it in and out of my backpack has scratched it all up!! Had I known this BEFORE putting it in there, I would have gotten that cover they make for it. Well now it's a bit too late for that. Is it at all possible to get a replacement for that piece, or would it be too hard/expensive to switch that out with a new one?? Thanks for any help, I figure I will have to ask Dell, but just thought I'd see if anyone on here new offhand. I can't believe it scratches that easily!!!

I hope the Inspiron 9300 doesn't scratch that easily because I didn't buy a quicksnap cover for it, and I got the Nylon Backpack.

Is there any way to get quicksnap covers after the laptop is shipped? Will there be a shipping charge? Do Dell Direct stores carry some for the same price as the online price?

If you haven't already, remove the plastic film that protects the cover. I thought my laptop was all scratched up when I took it out of the box, but then I noticed the protective film.

Yes, the brushed aluminum does scratch up easy. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it unless you put on the optional Personalization Shield. The good thing is that you can't really see the scratches unless it's at a certain angle and lighting. Don't let it bother you, as it is expected to happen.

what can really scratch up your laptop easily are those net looking things inside the bags. those are rough and can damage the front cover. my friend's laptop got scratched up really bad. and also beware of zippers and such they tend to ruin the cover too
