Does Dell XPS support really stand out versus the Inspiron support (That's with dell care plus)? If so, please tell me the differences.

XPS support gets you an agent in either Canada or the US.

This is India. It's where you call when you have a technical problem with your Inspiron....

Well, for me (I never had an Inspiron) and my 1530 was my first (lappy)..I had to call XPS support on a problem I was having ~ and they helped me out with my problem.

In fact, my support rep..stayed on the phone with me and provided the best support I felt I couldve asked for. Plus more, he answered extra questions I had, and helped me tweak other things, that he didnt even have to!!!

So, I would say that is "standing out" in my own opinion!!! ;) :) ;)

    Hahaha.

I was concerned about this as well - I wanted to know how similar the XPS support was to the business grade support. When I asked a Dell representative if XPS included North-American based support, he skirted around the question saying that they "have skilled technicians trained to work with XPS systems all over the world."

They are support and are supposed to be able to work with all the products they sell - so I don't have high hopes. I bet they have the same set of prompts on their screen, just with an XPS logo at the top.

Instead of, "I am now going to tell you to do all of the same troubleshooting techniques that you have already done to your laptop," it will be, "I am now going to tell you to do all of the same troubleshooting techniques that you have already done to your XPS."

I hope that guy didn't know what he was talking about, but if you have got in touch with a North American tech agent from experience then my fears are eased a bit.

I have an INSPIRON 1520. I called Dell with a help question and a kind Representative in THE UNITED STATES named Sheila (if I remember correctly, it started with an S) helped me with my problem until it was fixed. It took 3 hours, but she stuck with me through thick and thin. I let her take control of my computer and she knew exactly what she was doing. It all worked out in the end. So Inspiron support isn't as bad as you may think.

I called Dell XPS Tech support. A guy said "Hello, my name is Chris Rawlings", and I was so happy. But... then I noticed later on he had a slight, but noticeable indian accent as he talked more. Dell might be using fluent indians for XPS.
