    Hi all,

I just received my fifth xps1330 replacement and I am starting to think that there might be a problem with this one too, or it's just me.

It seems like the fans are running pretty much all the time, even at just normal text editing or web surfing. The fans are not running at the highest speed but they are doing something because I can hear them louder then what I remember hearing the fans on my earlier systems.

According to RMClock the CPU core temprurate is around 39-45C while not really doing anything and this is also when the fans are running at this speed, at higher tempruates the fans kick in to a higher gear.

So my question is if it's normal to have the fans running and 39-45C and if I should be hearing them? And also, is there any software to control the fans on the xps1330?

    Thank you.

Make sure that you have more memory installed. When I checked my M1330 with 1gb vs. 4 gb, 4gb produced less heat as there was less disc spinning. Also, make of your HDD matters. If you can, think of upgrading it to Fujitsu which run relatively cold. If you are having integrated graphics it should run relatively cold. Also, let us know the complete config of your M1330. Otherwise, it will be shooting in the dark.

SpeedFan doesn't work, I does not show me any of my fans status..

This is really annoying, I pretty sure my fans didnt sound this much when just idling earlier. Why even are the fans on with the temp under 40C?

Gah, I getting really tired of all the problems I had with Dell and the XPS1330, this is nothing more then a joke and I highly doubt that I will buy a Dell again.

Ok, I have my old 1330 still here and at 55C I can't even hear a fan running on that but the new one is running steady almost all the time, right now at 39C. WHY? Why can't I edit the settings, it's the same BIOS on both.. the only difference is that the new 1330 has a 2.2ghz while the old one has a 2.0ghz.

I got mine shutting off after running WOW for about an hour... screen goes blank and appears that it's still on but nothing moves... I have to press and hold the power switch to recycle it... any suggestions?
