am i fvcked up with this order? i paid $2,000.7![]()
blue ray is pretty expensive ****ty!
-
Wow. Should have got a longer warranty for that expensive notebook.
How much more was the blu-ray drive over the cost of a normal DVD-RW? -
I think the Bd drive add $300 or was it $500, basically it's the single most expensive device in the laptop..
-
I believe it's $500. At least that's the price in Canada.
-
Yeah, $500 here in the US, too.
-
I guess that isn't a bad price. Configured on Dell.com it comes to $2300 or so with just the basic $599 off. That blu-ray drive is expensive!
-
Whats the point of getting BLu Ray in XPS m1530?
For $500 You can get a Brand New Playstation 3 along with 5/6 Blu Ray DVDs.
Comeplete waste of money imo. -
Wait, the system I configed had a 3 year warranty with complete care.
You need to cancel and re-order with a coupon code, or wait for a coupon to order if you have not already.. -
Did you apply a coupon to it? I'd wait a bit for a sale. Also I would skip the bluray unless you really feel the need to have it in your laptop... to me there's no point, especially if you aren't running the highest res, I think DVD will suit you just fine and by the time bluray is really taking over the market a drive will be dirt cheap.
If you want bluray for the home buy the PS3. -
yes i got dell coupon
heres the breakdown...wihout tax & shipping is 1783.50 (less discount)
.
Save 25% on all XPS M1330 & M1530 laptops over $1599 (before taxes, fees, shipping & handling) - $594.50
Order Subtotal: $1,783.50
Shipping and Handling Total: $69.00
Tax Total: $148.20
Total Charges: $2,000.70 -
I paid over $2K for my M1530 because I got a Blu-Ray player/burner in it. You're not "fvcked up" with the decision, so long as you wanted it. Yeah, it's expensive and yeah, you can get a Blu-Ray player in a PS3. Thing is, I can't take a PS3 out and watch a Blu-Ray movie without picking up my television with a long extension cord. And I definitely can't burn Blu-Ray to a PS3. Also, maybe I don't want to get a PS3, but that's a whole different issue and forum.
You're not going to get a cheaper price on a Blu-Ray burner. If you want to use it, it's a decent price. If you don't plan on using it, it's a rip-off. That's true with all things in computers. -
I agree, Blu-ray is whats driving up the cost ($500) The real bottom line is....do you really want it. if you do then dont focus on the cost, apply whatever coupon you can and
be happy with your purchase -
I paid 1700 for
Regular DVDRW
T8300
3GB RAM
LED Screen
6-Cell
3 Year Warranty
But the laptop is less than 50 miles from my house so I dont think Im going to be changing the order anytime soon. -
blockbuster online are offering Blue Ray disc so i dont want to be left behind without the blue ray
-
you got expensive s hitty there..... mine is 1783 (less tax/shipping/discount) with blue ray same specs with you but less 3years warranty.
