I downloaded the sigmatel drivers for XP from dell.com

Still no mic. What settings is the onboard mic use? digital mic? microphone? line in?

I was using vista and I think the audio drivers were named different, the XP version is just straight: SIGMATEL.

anyone know what to try out?>

    **EDIT**

also, does anyone know the complete list of devices inside the 1730? i'm trying to get all unknown devices installed since i rolled back to vista. (rolled forward imho.)
