I was just trying to configure an XPSM1330 on the Dell site, but it gave me an error, saying that the dedicated 8400M GS was not compatible with my battery selection, which was defaulted to the 4-cell.
It also gave the same error when I tried to choose the "4 cell + 9 cell" combination.
The only way it would let me order would be if I chose a 6 cell or 9 cell only.
Any ideas why this is? I don't recall this being a problem before. Hard to see what they mean exactly - all I can think is they think the battery life with the 4 cell would be so poor they won't let you order it, but that still seems silly.
I think they should offer a 6 cell + 9 cell combination, frankly.

Apparently the discharge rate is too high for the 4 cell battery to endure. This is understandable, given the low Energy capacity of the 4 cell.

Gotcha.
So, what would be the best way to order an XPSM1330 with a 6 cell and a 9 cell (I was thinking I'd like a smaller battery to travel with, along with the 9 cell for most capacity).
Or are the 9 and 6 cells both extended batteries that stick out the same? In that case I might just stick with the 9 cell. -
The 6 cell sits flush like the 4 cell while the 9 cell sticks out

9 and 6 is the best combination.. Low use to High mobility. And yes, the 6 cell is flush. Check out the reviewpub review. It has pics of both the 6 and 9 cells. I personally like the angle the 9 cell gives.

I would wait untill after your laptop arrives and ask for a 4 cell freebie
