Is the M1530 with a T7250, 1440X900 resolution and 2GB better than the Inspiron 1720 (17 inch) with a T7500, 1920X1200 resolution and 2GB ?? I could have them for about the same price ...
    thx

I guess it depends on what resolution you want, what laptop size/weight you want, what style you want, and.............I guess that's just about it. :D

M1530 comes with HDMI as well ..not sure if the 1720 does...so there are pros and cons with both...I have the M1530 and it is awesome...versatile..hook it up to the telly....etc,....

The 1720 comes with DVI instead of HDMI, which is too bad. I was making the same choice between the 1720 and the 1530 a couple weeks ago, the 1720 was appealing because the standard configuration when I was looking to buy one included a blu ray drive, but I ended up going with the 1530 because there was a $500 off sale and the DDR3 version of the 8600M GT (which is in the 1530, the 1720 has DDR2 VRAM) is a better card for gaming. Plus, this 1530 replaced my old 17 inch gateway, and although I didn't think a 17 incher was too much of a burden to carry anywhere, it's nice to have a laptop that fits in my backpack now ;)
