    Hi,

you see where I´m going with this. I want to know what the real difference in battery life is. I´m pondering whether the choice of x3100 will give me a significant boost in batterylife or not. Sorry, if this has been discussed before, I may be blind as I couldn`t find it. So a pointer into the right thread without too much shouting would be grand. Cheers!

Do you need a dedicated video card? The X3100 does consume less battery and generates less heat, maybe you can consider the SZ which has both cards.

The SZ has an integrated gpu and an standalone? Anyways...for now I´m leaning towards an xps1330. Maybe wait for the new processors but 1330 nonetheless. And as far as I`ve heard, the gain in battery life is not that much compared to the power the standalone gpu gives you over the integrated. This is why I wanted to see if anyone has some real experience with both of these cards.

plus, I´ve looked up the prices in my country...the SZ with almost the same specs cost almost double what the xps does.
