Is it normal to have the laptop vibrate all the time?
Not the fan it's all around the touchpad, not on the keys.
    Odd? or no?

Depends if it's normal to have an earthquake all the time where you live.

Dell's tech will think your crazy if you tell him what you are saying now.

Do you have CD/DVD in the drive or something?

Something is probably wrong with the hard disk or the fans of the machine, send it back.

Are you sure this is not the tingling feeling you get when you stroke your fingers across the aluminium? That is actually caused by lack of earth wiring (usually due to 2-pin US plug). It affects Dells but I have felt it on Sony's as well and should be harmless. The usual cure is to wait for a thick layer of grease to build up on the surfaces - which insulates you ;-)

As the post above states could be the tingling.

Does your system 'vibrate' when on battery power, or only when on AC? :)

The system vibrates on battery and ac. It isn't a tingling, this one with a solid state hard drive I had did a little of this, it's like
vibrates big time all over. Like something is running that should stop.
The fan will go on, but it's on top of the vibration.

Well without a hard disk it is getting harder to understand - unless the DVD is spinning or the fan vibrating. I still wonder if it could be what I called 'tingling' but if it occurs on battery it probably isn't. The other test is whether you still feel it when your fingers are not moving. With the 'tingling' it occurs as you slide your fingers across the aluminium but if you stop and hold then steady then I think the feeling stops.

This thread got my interest as I was checking out the m1330 at Best Buy and I noticed the vibration on the lower left side too...

Mine vibrates ALL THE TIME, it vibrates the most from the left palm rest. Is that the hard drive?

Well I called and said that is why I was returning it, and the gal said lets just replace it. So I went with a new one.
But the vibration I could never live with. My m1210 doesn't at all....
    It's really irritating.

How long have you had it? How can you stand it??
Does anybody else think it is even close to the realm of normal for
    a computer????

Mine vibrates on the left hand palm-rest....it's just the fan on minimum speed. The fan isn't audible on minimum, so most people think it's off, but if you lift it up and put your ear to the vent, you can hear the fan on very slowly, and thta is causing the vibration...

Now my new one vibrates on the left side... where the hard drive is,
but not nearly as bad as the first..
gosh I'd hate to have to replace another one, but if people say
a good one should not vibrate at all???

Actually it's the hard drive area. So it must be it spinning.
