All i have to say is wow, this is what the xps m140 should have been!

a 12" laptop with DEDICATED GRAPHICS

    CPU: core duo processor
    RAM: 2-4 GB
    HDD: ?
    CD: up to DVD-RW
GPU: X1300 or Geforce Go 7300

those are the basic specs there, sounds like an awesome laptop, i personally will be getting one!!!!!

Where did you see that the M1210 had dedicated graphics?

As far as I know, it's strictly integrated...

Few people would use 2GB RAM. Most people would get by fine on 1GB or even 512MB so that's a bit unnecessary. The X1300 and 7300 are pretty weak cards - the X1400 or Go 7400 would be okay.

i believe users are going to want at least 1 gb just for vista; just like you kinda need at least 512 for xp even tho the "recommended amout" is 256 which is just unworkable.

as well, regardless of the strength of the vidcard; getting ANY dedicated solution into a tiny 12" notebook is quite an accomplishment.

    some expectations are unrealistic.

I'm not sure if I believe the dedicated graphics in this puppy, I mean if they could fit dedicated graphics in a 12" why couldn't they in a 14" (E1405)?

    I want my XPS M1410 - NOW! :p

The 7300 Go doesn't look bad to me. Good enough for basic gaming. Really now, who'd expect games like Quake4 and Fear to run flawlessly on a 12" laptop anyway?

edit: If the news of the M1210 is true, who else here thinks it's reflecting the specs of the new Apple iBook? I mean, Dell never saw the need of including dedicated graphics to anything lower than their 15" lineup. Why the sudden change now?

most of it i've just heard, but i've had quite a few people that work at dell, or with dell tell me that its very very likely, so i'm hoping!!!!

anyway, there are even pictures out, as you've probably heard.

also, dells reasoning for doing this, IDK, but i've been saying for quite some time, if a mainstream seller comes out with a small laptop with dedicated graphics, they are gunna make a butt load of money!

Abaxter put something up about it on the front page. There's no discussion for it yet apparently. This 12.1 is quite hot. Finally a challenger for the SZ.
