Just noticed on Dells website my E1405 is being shipped today and UPS says it will be here Tuesday. Dell's original estimate was, it wouldn't even shipp till May 19th. So thats pretty good.

Same here. my e1505 was sposed to ship on the 26th but it shipped tday. someone on the forums said they do this intentionally so you're more satisfied w/ dell. I also think they're just bein cautious when they give the estimate.

What specs and price did you get on your 1505?

I'm waiting for the free 100gb harddrive to come back, right now they are offering 60gb...

Dell does that to make them look faster & better. Like you guys, you are more satisfied now, since it did ship earlier.

swordfish: I would call Dell, and maybe ask them to upgrade it for free, since it was offered just a little bit ago...they might give in, or they might not.
I would at least try 2 different Dell reps..since it varies between each one.

    Good luck

Picked one up b/c they were offering both 750 off 2000 and 100 off 2000, so I saved 850 total. Here are the specs:
    t2400
1 gig ram (upgrade from 512 was free)
    15.4 wsxga+
    80 gb 7200 rpm
    ati x1400
    Intel PRO wireless and bluetooth
    DVD burner
    6-cell and 9-cell batteries
    2 year warranty
    all for $1220 after tax.
Best deal I could find, just had to go for it.
