That sound's like he/she accidentally pressed disconnect... maybe? maybe not, try again is my advise.

PS: phone support is USUALLY the most helpful when trying to get warranty repairs

Its better to call for problems. There are many things that dell chat cannot help with as far as customer support goes. But surprisingly, there is one thing they can do very well and that is canceling systems, generating RMA's and everything you need to cancel and refund order. When I briefly had my 1420 I contacted dell chat about many issues.. most of the time they tell you to call in the morning. But they got the cancel/refund thing down really good. And from what others have to say about dell chat and from my own experiences, thats about the only good thing going for Dell chat. :)

I will respond to this thread in 2-3 minutes...

Oh, I'm kidding. Start another chat session and try again. It may take two or three times to get someone who is competent and can help you. Be really specific with your issue. They like that.

I have had a similar experience. Today, I was "chatting" with a tech supervisor after the tech could not resolve the issue and we were "disconnected".

To my surprise, he called me on the phone immediately after it disconnected.

Whether my issue is resolved remains to be seen.
