I just received my Vostro 1500 with WXGA+ screen (AUO2077). The screen exhibits some graininess, but mainly I'm not happy with the quality because of the extremely limited viewing angles and the backlight being uneven. When I have it on my lap, the right side of the screen is noticeably darker than the center.

I notice when the laptop is off, that reflections (from things in the room) on the screen are distorted with little waves and imperfections. I would expect reflections to look pretty smooth like looking in a mirror. It seems as though the coating on the screen is very uneven. I wondered if anyone could comment on what they observe in this regard. Thanks.

If you're not happy with it, get it replaced, or return the laptop. There's not much else anyone can do for you.
