I don't think I wanna say how but it wasn't anything illegal or through EPP. All I will say it was unadvertised and only lasted like maybe 2 days...gone now though sorry.

Seriously. You post a new thread about this amazing deal on a new Latitude but then won't tell us how you got in on it? WTH. Was there a similar deal on a D830? How do I keep missing this stuff over the past 2 weeks?

This thread is so terribly useful.

Even though you've now removed the original post, it doesn't seem like you ever revealed how you got this amazing deal (which I can't even see now...). Just needed to brag a little eh? ;)

It was something like $775 for a D630, T7300, dedicated graphics, mostly spec'd out, I think.

    I'm thinking gift cards?

I can get a fully loaded D630 for 1K with 3 year complete care warranty so I'm not too jealous :D

possibly during the Inspiron 640m shortage is also. I read inccidents(<-- check spelling) where Dell were giving people a D630 because the delay was like 1 month or something

Yea I guess thats my bad for stirring stuff up, I knew people would jump all over it. So heres the story and keep it on the DL. Basically they discontinued the 640m but still had ads and promotions out there running for $599 and people wanted them. When they found out they couldn't get what they wanted (640m) dell tried to replace it with 1501's or upsell to a D630. If and only if they didn't want the 1501 and didn't want to pay the extra for the 630 then there was a coupon code that took something like $7XX off the D630 and brought it down to $599, throw in a couple upgrades and you get the number I posted before. It was only valid for like a day though and unadvertised (they deactivated coupon code) and you will notice they pulled the I640m from the website...
