It looks like Dell has outdone itself again. I ordered an XPS m1530 with the 6-cell battery on 5/27 with an original ESD of 6/13. It was delayed to 6/20 and then again to 6/27. They called me to ask me to provide consent and I did through the phone. I also logged onto the online order status page, which was supposed to be an additional way to provide consent (I did both within 24 hours of receiving the delay e-mail). I figured that since it was already in boxing, I might as well wait it out, right?
Well, apparently my order has just been canceled under the Federal Mail Order Rule. Dell cites that they were "unable to connect with you to get your permission to continue processing it." I called the customer service number provided and the Indian lady told me that there is no way to revive an order once it has been canceled. I'm not sure if it's just me, but she didn't seem very knowledgeable about the subject so right now, I'm on hold at the order modifications department trying to see if anything can be done about this.
Seriously Dell, all I have to say is, WTF?
-
Yep, order modifications department told me the same story. The order can't be put back on the line. I have to start all over again.
First they make us wait three and a half weeks for a battery, now they can't even process a simple message of consent. I don't know about the experiences you guys have had with Dell but for me, this is the last straw. I'm canceling and looking elsewhere. -
Ouchh... That's horrible man... I was scared that that was going to happen with me and had a feeling it had to have happened with some people.
-
That's absolutely ridiculous. I'm STILL afraid that has happened to me, where did you get the information? An email?
-
Yes, it was an e-mail that they sent me a few hours ago that said they canceled the order.
You've got to be kidding me....
