    Hey,

I just ordered my 1520. I live in Australia, so the price came to $1600 AUD + GST.

I am going to use the laptop mainly for movies, gaming, music, and internet. Will these specs let me do all of those just fine?

I am mainly worried about the processor (T5450) which is 1.66 Ghz.

    Inspiron 1520

    - Intel core 2 duo T5450 (1.66GHz/ 667 FSB/ 2MB Cache)
    - Vista Home Premium
    - 2GB 667MHz dual-channel DDR2 SDRAM
    - 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    - 15.4" Widescreen WXGA (1440x900) TFT Display with TrueLife™ + Webcam + colour kit
    - NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GT (256 MB)
    - Midnight Blue with microsatin finish

    Hmm

IMO you will be able to game on that, But sometimes you will experience some lag and whatnot, in the newer games that is.

As for the other stuff, the laptop is perfect for everything else..Does DELL let you upgrade hardware? You got good RAM and video, maybe later on you can upgrade the CPU.

I see you got blue, I put in an order for that colour too, take some pics please! I'm sick of these stock images :D

    When does yours arrive?

Haha i will definatly take some pics for you, the ETA is July 18th, which is surprising as a only just ordered it. Maybe its quicker to Aus.

There was the option to upgrade to a higher processor, but i have a low budget, so i decided not to.

Is it easy to upgrade the CPU in the future? how much would it set me back moneywise? Also, Is it possible to overclock a dell laptop?

Hmm, Dell lock their BIOS so I'd say no.

Not sure if dell lets you send it in and upgrade the hardware..If they did then you could upgrade the CPU.

I have the same ETA, lets see who gets it first :D

Don't worry though, even though its 1.66Ghz, It will run just fine :)

Thanx prodigy, appreciate the help. I plan on having this laptop for many years to come, so in the future I will probably choose to upgrade the processor anyway.
