So I ordered a 6400 because the price seemed right, and price really is an issue for me.

I ended up getting the following:

    Intel Core Duo T2350 (2MB/1.86GHz/533MHz)
    1 Gig of ram (DDR2/533mhz)
    256MB Ge Force 7300
    160GB 5400RPM SATA HARD DRIVE
    15.4 Inch Wide-screen WXGA Display
    8X DVD+/-RW Drive
    Dell Wireless 1390 802.11b/g
53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

All that for 732 shipped..I went with the core duo instead of the core2 because I'm trying to save money, and I probably would have went with the x1400 had I known it performed better than the 7300, but I probably won't be playing too many games anyways.

Anyone have any expierence with similar hardware? I couldn't find any reviews of anything like that..thanks!

What do you plan to do with your notebook? That's a good place to start when gaging how you configuration will perform given your needs.

Good point, not sure why I didn't mention that before...

Mostly work-type stuff, which means I'll probably be running linux, with beryl special effects, and for windows stuff, i'll be using XP. I can't imagine myself doing anything too taxing, except for the occasional session of WoW or maybe a few other 3d-ish games.

The X1400 is a better GPU than the 7300.
