    review:
well i got this in the mail on the 15 of November after a couple of weeks of ordering. well, in one word: it ROCKS!! I have 0 complaints about it except for the fact that it froze up on me a couple of times but that is only vista so I can't blame the laptop. i tested a couple of dvds on it and the led screen is excellent. bright whites and dark blacks. Color reproduction is great but it is not mind blowing as i have seen better display but this a laptop so there is only so much that you can expect. the computer is plenty fast with 4gb of ram and a speedy 1066MHZ FSB while running at 2.26 ghz. the touch controls work very well and are easily recognized . i haven't tested out the finger print reader much but it takes several tries to recognize so i will stick to passwords for now. (tsk, tsk. so impatient :D ) i have tested the speakers with several types of music. the speaker is very good for a laptop but it has limited bass because of a lack of a subwoofer. i haven't run 3dmark on it but u can find those scores on google anyways. ( note: i have done no OCing on it). On to the keyboard, i have the back lit one and the back lighting is even and bright in dark conditions and can even be seen in a well it place. the aesthetic qualities are good as the laptop has zero flex. the gloss finish on the palm rest area looks like a fingerprint magnet but dues to a grey color, the finger prints can't be seen. the lid is red and it looks very nice. there are no paint job error s like cracking paint or anything but only time will tell us how the lid stands up to everyday use as I've only had this for a couple of days!

    conclusion:
    pros: good screen
    great keyboard
    no drops on wifi
    fast
    cons: none rly.

will post up video review on youtube later!!

Freezing up isn't Vista's fault. You should look into that. None of the 6 computers I've worked on for the past year that had Vista have ever frozen. My Dell Studio with Vista Home Premium included.

My HP did that when i first got it. Turned out to be a bad processor. I would look further into that. Maybe look in the system logs.

Man, I really like the Studio line too. I like the looks and durability more than my XPS, BUT... The two things that I didn't like was the aweful 1280x800 screen and the touchpad... I hated those... I replaced it with an XPS M1530 with LED, and I am happy, but I wish Dell made the XPS as sturdy feeling as the Studio.

tell us what you think of it 18 months down the road when it constantly crashes and is so slow that you have forgotten if you've actually turned the thing on.
