well to me it sounds as though obviously the 9300 will replace the 9200, but is the 6000 supposed to replace the 8600 or the 600m. The 600m sounds more like it, but that would mean they're cutting their year long flagship power with mobility notebook from new tech...??? which one is it?

Keep in mind those are the two units we know about, there could be others.

No, I don't think that it will be that. The Inspiron 6000 should replace the 5060 laptop. Because the 8600 is going to be replaced by the 8700 in (March?) and the 600m couldn't be a 6000 because it has to have a [m] at the end of it's code (ex. 600m, 700m) so, the only one left is the 5160.

Some think that the 6000 looks like an 8600 replacement, I tend to disagree and think as ToshibaM5x says that the 8600 will get bumped up to the 8700 in March and they'll offer the new processor at that time. The 6000 is kind of an anomaly, it is widescreen and seems fairly high-end, so I don't thin it's a 5060 replacement -- we shall see I guess!

thats true also, Toshibam35x and abaxter, and sorry if this is exactly what anomaly means, but maybe its just a new model, like how the introduced the xps and 9100 out of nowhere a couple years back.
