ok, so i'm about ready to make my purchase, just a last few things i have questions on. First, would anyone say that the 6000 w/dedicated video graphics at least matches the performance of the previous 8600. I noticed abaxter posted a pi calc of 2min7sec or so. How good is this? Thanks

No, its dedicated video card is no way close in performance to the 8600's. It uses the Ati X300 GPU, very low end, budget graphics processor.

But, it does use PCI Express, meaning you can swap it out with a better video card if you like. I've seen on several computer hardware websites that the card on the 6000 can barely run Doom 3 and Half Life 2 and games like that even on the lowest settings.
