the screen can be grainy, the batter can be loose, when playing mp3 it will certainy be choppy.

And you don't need to ask Dell to fix because they can't fix these problems, you either use it or refund it, good luck.

I just requested my refund of the V1400, 3 grainy screens and lots of lies I am tired. Going to get a HP 2500 or the Sony NR, for same price it's got lower config but at least I won't be so angry.

thats too bad KevC. I don't know if i request the refund i'll get all of the money or if i'll lose the shipping and taxes.

    unfortunely i just found this
i ordered the wxga+ Truelife screen, mainly because i was told that glossy screens where brighter. i could live with the reflections if it means that i can get the brighter monitor. After seen this now i know this doesn't apply to this model and was a mistake to order the TL screen

and if i cancel i will loose the good discounts i was getting, that are not available anymore

The screens vary. Some TrueLife screens are bright, some aren't.
Maybe you'll get a good one.

    let's hope so, *crosses fingers*
even if i get a bad one, maybe i'll just stick with it due to the good discount

translating it to dollars, it costed (with taxes and shipping) around 794 us$, if i try to make the same configuration now, (with the difference that this one comes with a 1.4 Ghz core2duo and DVD writer , the one i ordered comes with a 1.6 Ghz and Combo cd/dvd) it cost 1084us$.

well, maybe there will be more discounts in the future but god only knows when/if
