First time ordering from Dell. I ordered an Inspiron 1318 notebook on 2/19, and the estimated shipping date is 3/6. The estimated delivery date is 3/13. I was wondering if those dates seemed like accurate estimations or if there are likely to be delays.

here are the system specs by the way:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4GHz
    3GB DDR2 SDRAM
    250G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    802.11g Mini Card
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

Are any of those parts likely to cause a backorder delay? Has anyone had experience with the 13-inch Inspiron notebook specifically?

Hey, grat's on your order! :D

The ESD is usually over projected, so that it covers any potential delays, and such with your order. Meaning, there's a very good chance it could ship on/or before the ESD. The EDD is given to correspond with how your lappy is being shipped: Next, 3-5 day, etc.

I don't think you have anything to worry about spec' wise.

Did you sign up for e-mail notification of when your lappy has shipped?

You can check your order on your account via Dell, or call the Automated Dial at 1-800-433-9014, enter your order number ~ and you will get the latest and greatest. Note, that the Automated Dial is more *detailed* then the website.

    Hope that helps!

    Cin ;) :)

Yes, I have signed up for the e-mail delivery notification. I have also called the Automated Dial, and the system is currently in the "build" stage.

    Thanks for the response. :)
