when i close my notebook aim sign offs. its the new version of aim and i cant find it in the options to keep it on when the comp goes into sleep mode.
-
i dont think u can stay on while in sleep mode, since the comp essentially turns off...
correct me if i'm wrong... -
so how do i keep aim on just leave the notebook open the whole time?
-
look in the power options in the control panel, there should be an option to set the amount of time the computer waits for sleep/hibernate...set those to never
then look for the option to change what the lid does when it's shut. the default option is "sleep"...
on vista the option is on the sidebar of the power options panel, called "choose what closing the lid does" -
is it bad closing the lid without it sleeping? like is it bad to just leave it on all the time or leave it on for like half a day
-
When you put your lappy into sleep/hibernate, it stops the internet connection. I am pretty sure there is no way to change that.
-
no is it bad to change the setting to nothing when closing the lid
-
Thats what I have it set to. All the computer does is turn off the display when you close the lid. I find it annoying when it goes to sleep w/ the lid closed.
