thats a good question. I know notebooks usually are looked over more to weed out dead pixels compared to desktop moniters, but whats dells dead/stuck pixel policy?
-
dont knw the ratio but mines got 0!
-
have had mine for 1 1/2 months and no dead pixels
-
If you will have 7 or more dead pixels then dell will exchange your laptop, Im ordering my E1705 soon and I hope I dont see any.
-
7 months, 0 dead pixels!
-

How can you tell whether your LCD has any dead pixels or not? with your eyes? or any programs out there that can detect it?

No dead pixels here and I have orderd about 7 of them for clients -
LG 1920 x 1200 - no dead pixels - two months old.
I do have two dark spots, bottom left and right extreme corners. Not a problem for me. I keep the back light 2 notches down from max or it will burn the hair off your arms -
How do you tell what time of screen it is (like LG)?
-
As far as I know I dont have any (I can't see them at least, and thats good enough for me). This lcd is amazing, I love it (except the glare once in a while).
-
ahhh, ****, i found one towards the bottom right, a pink lil fella.
was hopin it was dust, my machine's just under two weeks old. not bothersome, didn't notice it till i thought of looking because of this thread and got DPB to be sure. but yes, one of my 2280000 has just died. rest in peace, buddy -
Would you accept delivery of a brand new car if there was a scratch on the door? I wouldn't. I don't know what Dell's dead pixel policy is, but my policy is zero dead pixels, or you're replacing the screen. The nice thing about dealing with a monster corporation like Dell is that if you are polite and persistent enough, you can get them to do just about anything for you. After I was through with them they would be replacing my screen and sending someone over to mow my lawn.

None on my screen!
-
No dead pixels - 6 months on my notebook.
-
nope, I got the LG screen and it is BEAUTIFUL, 0 dead pixels
-
They have a 7 dead pixel policy, which is clear when your buy your laptop. Consumers such as yourself that are demanding, however polite and persistant and expect special treatment, drive prices up. -
I researched the dead picels on 1705's and what I saw was that they usually abide by the 7 deal pixel policy, but they make some exceptions. For instance, when there is a cluster of 4 or 5 near each other towards the center of the screen they will replace it. That's the only exception I read about.
all e1705 owners, any dead pixel issues?
