So I just ordered my Dell M1210.

I felt like she was lying to me the whole time in order to squeeze more money out of me. Is it true that discount for students is only 2 percent?

I just realized I didn't even get a student discount with my xps purchase, so should i call back and talk to someone about this?

secondly, she said she'll throw in free overnight shipping if it means I'll buy the system. Then when we closed the deal she said that there was no such thing as a overnight shipping on an xps system and that she can do NBD (next business day) for free.

I thought it was a little bs but I said ok.

Then when I we closed the deal she sent me an email with the info on what I purchased. I found out that it's 3-5 business day and I'm being charged $19.99 for it.

    what should I do?

I really need help guys thanks.

That is why I order things online if I can. Most sales people tend to be full of ****. They try and sell the product and usually make themselves sound stupid because they don't actually know anything about whatever they're trying to sell.

If you really want the shipping thing, call someone and try to get it straightened out.

If you'd rather save yourself some headache, cancel the order and reorder online. (That way, she won't get commission. Heh heh heh! Many sales people will tell you anything you want to hear to get that commission.)

the reason i didn't order online is because of the offer to purchase a 4 year warranty for only $140.

You know, you get an extra year warranty if you pay with AMEX. The extra warranty is provided by AMEX, not Dell, so it applies to all mfrs. There's a warranty guide around here somewhere that has details on all the different ways to extend your warranty, and if you have an AMEX, that's the best one.

Do you know if that's Norton 2006 or 2007? I tried out NAV 2007 a few days ago and, darn it's good! Can't even tell that it's running, quarantines viruses before you even have a chance to unleash them, and nice UI too. But darnit I still have subscription for NAV 2006 (which I uninstalled anyway) so I'm not paying for it until the other one expires, on principle...

If by good deal, you mean that it's cheaper than the base model for a brand new m1210 then, yes, I'd say it's a good deal.

Not a bad deal , the gma950 might possibly haunt you later, I hear it runs the basic areo interface just fine, but if they improve on it, or you try to run too many things at once it could be a major bottle neck, and no you can't upgrade the graphics card, the gma950 uses an integrated motherboard, no graphics card slot, the 7400 uses a discrete motherboard, IE with a graphics card slot. If you dont plan on gaming it should be fine for now, though the extra headroom of a dedicated card never hurts, gamer or non gamer. Mine was a little cheaper up front, and I eneded up getting a $100 taken off and the av package for free after an exchange due to misinformation on thier part about the vista upgrade.
