just wondering with the great pricing of the newest dell stuff what are others doing to combat this.. i saw a toshiba on sale at office depot for like almost 3000$ and the only difference was it had a 200gb hard drive ... and my similar vostro has a 7500 where the toshiba had a 7300.... is there really a better deal than dell right now???

I guess it depends on the screen size. There's obviously a lot more variety and deals to be had for 15.4" screens. For 17" (the only one I focused on), Dell is currently the best bang-for-the-buck by a good margin from what I've seen. And I've been to just about all of the suggested sites. In fact, the 1720's biggest competition price-wise is the Vostro 1700 (which I had first ordered and then cancelled).
